Penn Roosevelt State Park
Educational Talk and Mushroom Walk
The Central PA Mushroom Club’s first September meeting and mushroom walk will be held at Penn Roosevelt State Park in Centre County. We’ll meet at the Group Camp Pavilion at 12noon.
This event is being held in partnership with the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, and no registration is required.
We’ll kick things off indoors with a beginner’s educational talk on mushrooms by club member John Traister, covering common fungi found in central Pennsylvania and how they grow. After the talk, we’ll head out for a mushroom walk. Groups will forage for one to two hours before reconvening at the pavilion to display and identify the day’s finds together, with plenty of time for questions.
Come early to visit with fellow members before the talk begins. Please bring a basket or a cloth bag to collect mushrooms on the walk.
New members are welcome to join at the meeting. Membership applications will be on hand, and annual dues are $20, payable by cash or check.

Regular Meeting and Mushroom Walk
The Central PA Mushroom Club’s second September meeting and mushroom walk will be held at Simon B. Elliott State Park in Clearfield County. We’ll meet at Pavilion 3. Come early to visit with fellow members before we head out.
Groups will forage for one to two hours before reconvening at the pavilion to display and identify the day’s finds together. There will be plenty of time for questions during the identification session.
Please bring a basket or a cloth bag to collect mushrooms on the walk.
