July Meeting, Educational Talk,
and Mushroom Walk

The Central PA Mushroom Club’s July meeting is a special one. Held jointly with the Elk Country Visitor Center in Benezette, this event is free and open to the public—no registration required.
We’ll begin inside the ECCO Building with an educational presentation by club member John Traister on foraging mushrooms in central Pennsylvania. The talk will cover common edible and non-edible fungi found in the region and how they grow, making it an ideal starting point for newcomers and a valuable refresher for experienced foragers.
Following the presentation, we’ll head outside for a mushroom walk on the center’s grounds. As with all club walks, groups will forage for one to two hours before reconvening to display and identify the day’s finds together. Questions are always welcome.
Come early to catch the full talk and visit with fellow members. Please bring a basket or a cloth bag to collect mushrooms on the walk.
New members are welcome to join at the meeting. Membership applications will be on hand, and annual dues are $20, payable by cash or check.
